Description: An amazing issue of the Arkansas Democrat dated September 23, 1957 with multiple articles and photos of the violence surrounding the integration of Little Rock Central High School. I have never seen most of these photos and the articles are original source material. The newspaper even includes a large ad for a meeting of the Capitol Citizen's Council, an organization against "race-mixing" which they term "Public Enemy No. 1." The newspaper is about 15" x 23" and includes all 16 original pages. There is a tear in the upper right corner of the front page. All the pages are tanned from age and need to be handled with care but are fully legible and usable. Displays really well! An outstanding piece of history and an awesome addition to any collection.
