Description: This lot features the 1958 Topps Billy Martin #271 – GAI 8.5! - NMMT+ --- Martin was a fine Yankee second baseman and Stengel's sparkplug. He lacked the ability of close friends Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford, but he did whatever it took to win. The only year New York didn't win the pennant while Martin was a Yankee was the year he was in the Army, 1954. His alertness saved the seventh game of the 1952 World Series for New York, 4-2. With two outs in the seventh and the bases full of Dodgers, Jackie Robinson lifted a pop-up near the pitcher's mound that seemed to freeze the Yankee infield - until Martin raced in to make a lunging catch. Here’s a great-looking example of his 1958 card here. This one has 4 exceptional corners, 4 sharp pearl white borders and a beautiful flawless surface displaying wonderful focus and perfect clarity. Turn it over and you’ll find more of the same, with no worries and zero fading. Add fantastic centering to the mix and you have yourself a hi-end version of a tough-to-come-by card. Don’t miss out on this one! Buyer adds 2.50 for ship insured, US customers only, cc and m.o. payments go out next day, checks held 5 days. Please email with questions. Always combined shipping on multiple purchases. Thanks and good luck
