Description: HI. YOU ARE PURCHASING A 1960'S BATTERY OPERATED MARX KING KONG IN NICE COSMETIC AND WORKING CONDITION. THIS TOY WORKS EXACTLY AS IT WAS DESIGNED. WITH THE PUSH OF ONE BUTTON HE BEATS HIS CHEST, TURNS HIS HEAD BACK AND FORTH, OPENS HIS MOUTH AND ROARS. THE OTHER BUTTON MAKES HIM WALK FORWARD. THE REMOTE CONTROL IS CLEAN AND CORROSION FREE. IT STILL HAS THE PAPER INSERT. THE FUR ON THIS TOY IS IN NICE SHAPE WITH THE USUAL AMOUNT OF WEAR AND TEAR THAT IS CONSISTENT FOR THIS TOY. THERE IS A SPOT ON ONE HIP WHERE THE AXLE POKED THROUGH THAT HAS BEEN VERY NICELY COVERED AND LOOKS GREAT. THE COLLAR, CUFFS AND CHAIN ARE ALL SHINY WITH NO PITTING OR DISCOLORATION. IF YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH THIS TOY YOU KNOW THAT THEY HAVE A TENDENCY TO HAVE BECOME LOOSE JOINTED CAUSING THEM LEAN FORWARD A BIT WHICH COMMONLY MAKES THEM A LITTLE UNSTABLE WHEN WALKING. (THE SURFACE (AND BATTERY STRENGTH) HAS A HUGE EFFECT ON HOW WELL THEY PERFORM.) I HAVE DISCOVERED OVER TIME IN WORKING ON THEM THAT ADDING A COUNTER WEIGHT THAT HANGS DOWN THE BACK FROM THE COLLAR, BALANCES THEM OUT (WHEN ADJUSTED PROPERLY). THIS MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE ON GETTING THEM TO WALK STRAIGHT AND UPRIGHT WITHOUT TIPPING OVER OR GOING TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. EVEN THOUGH THIS KONG WILL WALK ON HIS OWN, I INCLUDE A COUNTER WEIGHT WITH EACH ONE I SELL. TO MAKE IT EASY TO ATTACH OR REMOVE I HAVE MADE IT SO THE COLLAR CAN BE EASILY OPENED AND CLOSED. I TOOK LOTS OF PHOTOS WHICH I BELIEVE SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. THERE IS ALSO A VIDEO OF THIS ACTUAL TOY IN ACTION. FYI, I HAVE 2 MORE (EQUALLY NICE) OF THESE READY TO GO. EACH ONE WILL BE PRICED TO CONDITION. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS. THANKS FOR LOOKING. GOOD LUCK!
