Sorry but I do not know who the original owner was, but I do know that he worked for the Strait Ranch in the early 1960s. He kept detailed records of the number of hours worked and what he did during those hours. It also lists paying cash for a car battery, $10.10 and anti freeze for $2.45. There are numerous pages with writing on it. After asking some of the older men around, they said that it wasn't uncommon for employees to document their time daily with notations about what they did each day.
