We picked up a pretty large collection of slides from the 1960s to the early 1970s several years ago and just put them in one of the closets in the house. We got the collection form a lady who worked for and retired from the Red Cross. She moved to Korea before the Korean War and before it was split into North and South Korea. She later moved to Vietnam during the Korean War before moving back home to the states and retiring from the organization. There are some really cool slides in here of some from throughout North Africa, Asia and the United States. For sale is a really cool 35mm slide of the Red Dog Saloon in Juneau, Alaska, dated September 1961.This slide is a great shot of the front of the saloon and shows what it looked like 62 years ago. You can also see the left side of an adjoining business that sold ivory, jade, gold nugget jewelry, Indian made moccasins, totem poles and Eskimo hand carved ivory.The Red Dog Saloon has been around since the heyday of Juneau's mining era and has changed locations in town several times over the decades. It looks a lot different today than it did back when this photo was taken.As you can see, this slide was developed at Dedman's Photo Shop in Skagway, Alaska.The slide is in excellent, undamaged condition and ready to be turned into a photograph if desired.PLEASE NOTE: Our lighted table doesn't have a very strong light, so the slide isn't as bright as it is when lit by a stronger light, such as in a projector. However, the slide is quite a bit brighter than shown in the pictures. This slide will be shipped in a padded envelope via media mail with the USPS.
