Description: 1961 NASCAR Charlotte National 400 Program/Lineup, Joe Weatherly Overcomes Spin. The program is in very nice condition with no significant flaws. The lineup does show some wear from where it was not completely nested. Numerous photos were taken to assist with the condition and content of the program and lineup. The Second Annual National 400 was held at Charlotte Motor Speedway on October 15, 1961. The 49th race of the season was run before 35,821 fans with David Pearson leading the field to green. Joe Weatherly, driving the Bud Moore #8, spun out trying to avoid another car and spent the rest of the afternoon catching up. Finally, with five laps left, he would take the lead and go on to victory. Finishing second was Richard Petty, followed by Bob Welborn, Cotton Owens, and Rex White.
