Maris clubbed 61 home runs, setting a new single season MLB record and winning the American League MVP award. The oft-injured Mantle still pummeled American League pitching with 54 blasts of his own. Anchored by the pitchers Whitey Ford and Ralph Terry, who compiled a combined record of 41-7, the Yankees won 109 regular season games and demolished the Reds in a lopsided five game World Series. Presented here is a 37 ½ x 24-inch poster from the artwork of famed artist Ron Lewis, whose 1990 work presented a formal team photo of the 1961 team.
