There is NO question this coin is different than a regular 1C MS piece or a full Proof. This is more of a satin specimen. Everything about this coin is "as struck". There are no problems in the fields, striations are minimal and are super light (with a glass you can easily see some), there are no spots, the list goes on. The luster is really strong and slightly rolls side to side. Of course the color is a totally original GEM Mint red. Most important: this coin does indeed have squared rims. Lincoln and every detail are needle sharp in strike. The eye appeal is tremendous! PCGS 2, NGC 0. CAC does NOT bean these. Some how there is a Collectors Universe value of $27,500.00 (we question that number). CDN WHOLESALE BID/ASK is $35,000.00/$42,000.00. The other coin is pictured on PCGS-it has some toning,. This coin does not. Lately there has been some controversy about all SMS coins. It is totally UNFOUNDED and has no effect on these coins. This coin is special and will be a welcome highlight in ANY GEM 1C set.
