Description: I have here for sale a book entitled BELA BARTOK HIS LIFE IN PICTURES with an introductory study by Bence Szabolcsi, photographs collected and edited by Ferenc Bonis, and published by Bosey & Hawkes, 1964. Containing 264 illustrations of various photographs of Bartok, and his compositions, maps, programs, and news articles. Split into 2 parts, Part 1 is a study on Bartok's life, and Part 2 is the photographs, many with accompanying descriptions. Béla Viktor János Bartók 1881–1945 was a Hungarian composer, pianist and ethnomusicologist. He is considered one of the most important composers of the 20th century. Bound in white cloth hardboards with black lettering to the front board and spine, and covered in a illustrated dust jacket. Dust-jacket in very good condition. Some discoloration to the spine, and to edges of the boards. Boards firm, and binding tight. A small bookplate is to the front paste down, otherwise pages clean. This book is in fine overall condition. 69 pages + plates. 18 x 17 cm.
