Description: Selling one 1964 Fender Jazz bass in sunburst. L series neck plate. OHSC is beat up with two outside latches missing, but functional for storage etc. Neck Date Feb 64. Pots dated 6404, or fourth week of 64. The Beatles probably just landed in the US as this was going down the production line.....Arguably some of Leo's best work came right before he sold the company in Jan 65. The bass plays and sounds like a dream, like all those great old recordings. Instant mojo, whether gigging or recording...No issues bass that is 100% original with no mechanical, electrical or playability issues. (Correct pan head screws on control plate and pickup covers etc) Weight is almost exactly 9 lbs.Bass has been in storage for the last 15 years. Frets have plenty of life left in them. Neck is dead straight with no "ski jump" around the 12-14th frets. Oxidation? on the tuning pegs(see pics), but they still function flawlessly.
