Description: VINTAGE 1964 Presidential Election large-format fold-out map published by the Disabled American Veterans more than 58 years ago.It opens to a generous 10.5" tall x 21.5" wide when open all the way and includes portraits of presidents, from George Washington to Lyndon Johnson. There's a description of the Electoral College, and the number of electoral votes for each state. (In 1964, Florida, for example had 14 electoral votes; today the number has more than doubled, to 29.) A chart on the right has blank spaces where the map owner could write in the results of the 1964 election, state-by-state. These spaces are still blank, but the rather lopsided result saw incumbent Democratic United States President Lyndon B. Johnson defeat Barry Goldwater, the Republican nominee. This 1964 Presidential Election Map was compiled by C.S. Hammond & Company, Maplewood, New Jersey, and distributed as a public service prior to the election, compliments of the Disabled American Veterans organization. Condition: It is in very good, lightly used condition and as noted. The map is blank on the back and it folds to 8" x 10½". Candidates' names written in pen & Pres & VP also written on center page. Has hole punch on the side. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
