Description: After being his brother, John Kennedy's campaign manager in the 1960 election, Robert Kennedy then served in his brother's Administration as Attorney General. He continued after JFK's death in that job for President Lyndon Johnson for a time, but soon quit since he and LBJ couldn't stand each other. He moved his family to New York state and ran for, and won, a 1964 U.S. Senate seat there against the republican incumbent Senator Keating, even though he was accused of being a carpet bagger. RFK jumped into the presidential race in March 1968 but was assassinated in the kitchen area of the Los Angeles Ambassador Hotel on the night he won the June 4, California Democratic Presidential Primary. After having just finished his speech and, while exiting the hotel, he was shot. He died early in the morning of June 6. Bobby may have been on the way towards the White House if Sirhan Sirhan hadn't killed him - and that man is actually still alive in a California jail. Which shows that the state has been a loony bin since the 1960's. Here's a 3" x 8.75" bumper sticker from RFK's 1964 senate race with the official campaign disclaimer on it. Now that his son, Robert Kennedy, Jr. was, sixty years later, running for president, this will surely have some added historical interest. This is version #2 sticker as we're listing another version at this time, as well, and also one from his 1968 campaign.
