Back in Spring Training in 1969 as NASA was getting ready to beat Russia to the moon. Professional Baseball dominated all professional sports. A handful of card companies were awarded the contract to picture the players for their hot selling bubble gum cards. This card is from Topps, at that time they were the definite leader in producing sports cards collectibles. There's a couple versions of what people believe took place when producing this 1969 Aurelio Rodriquez Rookie card. Topps stopped by the Angels practice and got all the players pictures but didn't have Mr. Rodriquez yet... So Topps asked some players where he was and they pointed him out. They went over and took this nice picture and left and created their 1969 baseball card set. When these came out (and they were never pulled from the market), the person the Angel's players pointed out was actually the bat boy named Leonard Garcia. So Mr. Aurelio Rodriguez rookie card for 1969 is not him. Topps made sure to correct the mistake in 1970 with Mr. Rodriguez 2nd year as his true rookie card. There's another version that some believe is; Topps was either too tired that day or this was a marketing gimmick to get even more fans back into baseball during some trying times in the late 60's. Making it my favorite, clean, share the story with your friends baseball bubble gum card. All four are real 52-53-year old bubble gum cards and in terrific condition. Great Investment, It's crazy this card hasn't caught complete fire since it's considered one of the most prolific sports card produced. Enjoy & Thank you. :)
