Whitney, the former superintendent of public health in the New Orleans Health Department, which were presented Monday to the New Orleans Public Library are (from left) Mrs. Whitney, the doctor's widow; Doctor Doris H. Thompson, director of the Department of Health, and M. E. Wright Jr., city librarian. The Whitney papers, which consist of letters, photographs, certificates, published articles and conference reports, will be part of the City Archives Collection administered by the Louisiana Division of the library. Doctor Whitney served as superintendent from 1941 to 1949. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 03-07-1972.
