The book is Copyright, 1974, 1970, by the Educational Research Council of America, and was intended for use as part of an elementary school's social science curriculum. It recounts the preparations for John Glenn' first orbital flight in 1962, the flight itself, and the hero's welcome he received in the days and weeks subsequent to his historic mission, and contains numerous photographs to accompany the text, including the following: Photograph showing the Original Seven Astronauts, M.
