Description: 1974 NASCAR Nashville 420 Program, Yarborough Wins, Waltrip's First Pole. This program is in very nice condition for being almost 50 years old. There is no writing or creases. Please see the attached pictures as further description of both the condition and content. The 18th race of the 1974 season was run at Nashville Speedway. The Nashville 420 was run on July 20th in front of 20,000 fans. Starting on the pole with a speed of 101.274 was Darrell Waltrip. This was Darrell's first career pole. The winner for this race was not determined until four days after the event. Cale Yarborough, in the #11 Junior Johnson Chevy, took the checkered flag, but Bobby Allison protested that Yarborough had made up a lap illegally. NASCAR admitted a mistake had been made in the scoring of the race, but they said it was not possible to take a lap away after the race was completed. Yarborough was declared the winner with Allison second. Rounding out the top 5 were Darrell Waltrip, David Sisco and Alton Jones
