Produced in Japan at the Matsumoku factory, this SB series bass features five-piece maple and walnut neck-through construction with Canadian ash body wings and a single MB-II humbucker. The MB-I can be pillowy and warm or growly and aggressive with a twist of a knob, and an additional three-way mini toggle Tone switch thins out the sound just enough to offer more tic-tac articulation and top end grind without sacrificing low end fullness and punch. The bass sustains almost endlessly, and at 8lbs 15oz, the tonewoods guarantee a solid, resonant platform for the single humbucker.
