I finally bought some batteries today Oct. 03, to check this out, the gears work fine and will free roll in center position the tires locked up on forward and reverse, with batteries in I moved it around a bit and started working, pretty loud engine noise and it did go forward and backwards on its own and shuts off in center position, not sure if its just from age and not rolling for 40 years. it did not go fast or anything but was moving forward and back on its own with the batteries when I used the gear shift on cab roof.. I kept forward and reversing it and it is sounding a little better now I think its just age and sitting all this time but it does WORK. Sold as shown in many photos above.
