Designed in tandem with jazz guitarist Lee Ritenour, this Ibanez was crafted at the Fujigen factory in Japan. This first-year iteration of the LR10 is notable for its genuine Brazilian rosewood fretboard, a feature which was retired from this model post-1984. The F hole inserts have also been removed, yet are present in the case. Tonewoods include a light figured flame maple body with a maple/mahogany centerblock, mahogany/maple neck, and bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and this LR10 has ample natural resonance and warmth, providing an ideal platform for the LR10 Special humbuckers. The Maxon-made LR10 Special humbuckers are rich and detailed, with a defined bass register. This LR10 weighs 8lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
