Description: Welcome to Adobe GoLive 6 This lot includes the original 1987 silkscreen movie poster PLUS the original mockup that the artist created to be printed on paper and make the posters. The mockup or boceto is painted on artistic board and provides the original artwork for a Cuban poster. A unique piece of poster history. Mockup measures 9x13 inches. The poster measures 20x30 inches. Notice that the artist used some cutout name in the place where the printmaker would choose any font that he liked. Some artists, like Muñoz Bachs, would make the fonts as a part of his art(drawing unique adorned fonts) so printmakers couldn't choose for him. This original poster belongs to an important collection initiated by my husband's grandmother in 1973. The collection was gradually transported to the United States between 1998 and 2012, adhering to stringent Cuban and U.S. government regulations regarding the import and export of art from the island. Each batch of posters was meticulously processed by the Registro Nacional de Bienes Culturales de la República de Cuba, with permits issued under my name and my husband's name, ensuring their legal transfer. The posters have been carefully preserved, kept flat in a temperature-controlled room since they left Cuba. However, due to the humid and hot climate of the island, as well as careless handling and poor storage over the years, some posters may exhibit minor flaws such as small border tears, cracks in the silkscreen paint, pinhole bug bites, and water stains.
