Description: Chinese Cultural Revolution Paintings, 1990The Album of Paintings Collected by The Museum of Chinese Revolution. Published by the Museum, 1990. Text in English and Chinese. A notation at the back states that the paintings selected for the book were commissioned and collected by the Museum since 1950. It also states that the subject matter covers the period of history from the Opium Wars to the founding of the People's Republic -- but the largest number seem to be related to the Cultural Revolution. Works by famous Chinese painters of the period -- intended to illustrate their "glorious history," show various aspects of the Revolution, encourage people to work hard and support Communist leadership. Nicely illustrated in full color. Softcover wraps (glossy card stock doubled back on itself). Good condition with closed 1.25 inch closed tear to cover at upper left corner. 9.25x10 inches. Pages not numbered, but about 80 pages. Good condition overall, but there is a mended closed tear at top left corner of cover (see images).
