Description: Whimsical Handyman Clay Art Figure by Sara Meadows in 1994. She has created "Balloon People" for many years in her studio in Pennsylvania. Each ceramic figure begins as a slab of red clay which is either wrapped around an inflated balloon, draped over a hump mold, or rolled up into a cone to create a variety of forms. Two kiln firings and the application of stoneware glazes complete the transition from clay to finished artwork. This wonderful handyman measures approximately 6" tall and 4" in diameter and carries a hammer and saw. Part of the claw of the hammer is chipped off. (Please see photos.)
