As an entrepreneur, he is known for the George Foreman Grill. In 2005, Foreman received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. George Foreman was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his accomplishments in boxing and his role as a civil rights activist: Foreman was a member of the Nation of Islam and became a prominent Black nationalist. When he was drafted, he refused induction and tried to be reclassified as a conscientious objector. He died on June 3, 2016 at the age of 74.
