Description: THE LAST PRECIOUS FEW PIPES Now it’s time to part with the favorites -the Ashtons by Bill Taylor RARE 1997 Genuine Bill Taylor era (First Decade) Ashton 1X Billiard with deep ridged Sandblast Ring Grain with Ashtonite Fishtail mouthpiece in EXCELLENT CONDITION From 1983-2009 The Ashton Pipe company creator Bill Taylor made WONDERFUL looking and incredible English briars that are so fabulously good smokers, thus highly collectible to this day. Aston continues with Jimmy Craig so Ashton continues. But Bill Taylor pipes are special. This pipe is dated 1997 and relief / ring grains are reasonably rare. In addition, this is the rare X size smaller shape and it weighs only 1.11 ounces. The Relief grain of the pipe is outstanding. Check out the grain on all sides the bowl and shank. Dunhill would be jealous! It has a deep black ashtonite Fishtail stem. There is no sign of rim char, a nice starting amount of cake and no teeth chatter.
