Description: CONDITION: Excellent, very minor signs of use. This porcelain covered serving dish or tureen was produced in Germany by the Franziska Hirsch Dresden studio in the 1890s. It measures 10 inches across the handles and is about 4 3/4 inches tall. The porcelain has many molded features. There are frilly, pierced handles, a ribbon shaped finial on the lid, scalloped feet and crimped edges on the border of the lid. There is also a molded dome at the top of the lid with high relief panels. All of these features provide opportunities for decoration. Large sprays of vividly colored bouquets decorate the bottom half of the dish. Smaller bouquets fill space on the lid. The dome is decorated with tendrils of flowers. The rims are hand gilded with lacy gold trim. The handles, the finial and the scalloped foot are richly gilded. Nothing was spared to make this one of the most beautiful pieces of Dresden we have ever seen. #E188 Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay. You will be blocked from further purchases.
