Description: This listing is for a fine academic drawing of a seated youth by Carl Hermann Martini (1796-1869). The drawing is executed in pencil and charcoal with white highlights on medium brown paper. An inscription along the bottom reads: "C. H. Martini. 26 Januar 1861." A large group of Martini's drawings from this period are preserved in the collection of the Harvard Art Museums. Additional details to follow. Drawing measures approximately 15"w x 17-7/8"h. It is in overall good condition with scattered dirt and surface imperfections. Note repairs at top left corner and along the bottom edge. There are small stains along the right edge and the sheet is tanned from prior matting. All four corners have subtle creasing. See images to verify condition and feel free to ask questions.
