Description: This beautiful antique Inuit Eskimo fishing spear tip or harpoon tip, is a rare find for any collector of Native American items. The spear tip is made from fossilised bone. It was handmade by skilled craftsmen in the United States and provides a glimpse into the culture of Native Americans, likely much older than the 19th century. The provenance and history of this item is lost, but it came with other pieces, (that I am also listing now); another spear point that is smaller, and a stone scraper too. The accompanying label to the group says: "ESKIMO ARTIFACTS POINT HOPE ALASKA". Also, there is a cataloguing number of "115" painted on the piece. A fantastic piece in very good condition, having a wonderful rich patina appropriate to its age and life lived. The piece is 6 3/4" long. A small packing fee has been included in the shipping.
