Description: Very scarce original 1902 First Edition Thus of "The Evolution of Mine-Surveying Instruments" by Dunbar D. Scott and Others. This work exists in modern reprints but is rarely found in the original vintage edition. This copy is a hardcover bound in leather published by the American Institute of Mining Engineers. It is in need of some restoration due to age and use. While the binding is intact, the front cover and early blank pages have separated from the spine. The book was in the Denver Public Library collection and has a circulation card envelope on the inside front cover as well as a warning not to damage the book. The spine has the library decimal system number written in white. There is evidence of past repair to re-enforce the spine with tape. There are a few stamps on the title page and early pages. *** The bottom spine end has a detached flap of leather which is still present and included. At the time of the photo, the flap was still loosely attached. *** The text is clean and unmarked. I found no stains, no foxing, only mild age toning. There are no folds or tears. Please inspect the photos and look at the Table of Contents for an idea of what is included. The book is thoroughly illustrated. Ships with USPS media mail, signature required.
