Description: 1st edition 1st printing The Tenants by Bernard Malamud!! Truly Nice Copy!!!. Here is a beautiful collectible copy of The Tenants by Bernard Malamud. This is a first edition stated first printing as shown on the copyright page published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux in 1971. This copy is truly nice. The binding is square and tight but had three stains between pages 24 and 25 as shown in the last photo. There is also a light stain to the bottom page block which can be seen in the photos provided. There is a previous owner’s name on the inner front board and a previous book seller’s pencil notations on the front free endpaper. The orange cloth boards are very clean and the gold gilt lettering is still quite bright on the spine. The jacket is complete and has the original price of $6.95 present on the front flap as shown. There appears to a small date written close by which has faded over time. The jacket is very nice indeed but for the open tear at the lower front panel also shown in the photos provided. Overall, a truly nice copy perhaps not for the serious collector but for one of the many many fans of Malamud.
