2 Katherine Anne Porter 1st Ed 1st A Christmas Story The Leaning Tower HCDJ 1944

Description: From Katherine Anne Porter, these are two first printings of the true First American Editions of A Christmas Story and The Leaning Tower and Other Stories. A Christmas Story (NY, Seymour Lawrence/Delacorte Press, 1967) – a stated First Printing with drawings by Ben Shahn in very good condition. Binding is straight and reasonably firm, not quite as tight ad fine. Boards are very nice and page ends are clean. Interior is fine with no marks or names. Sans archival cover, the dust jacket is in very good + condition but rice clipped. Heel and crown have tiny chips and edges light wear. The Leaning Tower and Other Stories (NY, Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1944) – a stated First Edition, first printing per publisher convention with no additional printings listed in very good condition in a well intact binding that isn’t as tight as fine with some light browning to exterior top edges (a bit at bottom) and a short gift inscription with date Dec 25 1944 at top FFEP. One corner is lightly bumped and page ends show minor age toning. The price-clipped brodarted dust jacket is in good condition (better than fair) with a large chip at crown, smaller one at heel (see photos) and corners with a bit of wear at folds and lower edges.
