Description: Two stereoview of the Masonic Lodge at Upham Corner, Massachusetts. Both photos were taken April 17, 1902. One image is of the Smoking Room, Masonic Apartments and the other Masonic Lodge Room. These stereoviews were part of a larger group of stereoviews belonging to Calvin M. Nichols or a family member. These stereoviews were photographed by a member of the C.M. Nichols' family, and the views were certainly produced in small numbers, and, in fact, may be one-of-a-kind.This stereoview is part of a group of stereoviews related to Calvin M. “Cal” Nichols and his family. Nichols was a long-time employee of The Hoyt Company, a hardware company in Boston, where he ultimately became president of the company. The Nichols family had a summer residence, apparently right on the ocean, at South Hingham, which is depicted in some of the stereoviews. The other stereoviews depict locations special to the family, family activities, and family members. Dates of the stereoviews are from 1900 thru 1908. The photographer is not identified, but clearly it was a member of the Nichols’ family & possibly the family patriarch Calvin M. Nichols.
