Description: 2 VINTAGE LEAD HAMMER w/ Steel Pips Handles. Made in the U.S.A. *********************************** ITEM DESCRIPTION: These two, old, lead hammers belonged to my grandfather. I rescued them from his auto-body shop, about 40 years ago, after he died. Both are very well used with the faces of both heads being well peened over. I, myself, have used them many times during the course of my life. When you need to deliver a strong blow, you can't beat a lead hammer! I believe they date to around the 1930's. Overall, the smaller measures about 14-1/2" long. The head roughly measures about 2-5/8" long and 1-3/4" in diameter. It has a steel, pipe handle that measures 13/16", in diameter, with the lower section slightly flattened to fit better into the hand. The larger measures about 20-1/2" long. Its' head roughly measures about 4-1/2" long and 2-1/8" in diameter. It also has a steel, pipe handle that measures 1", in diameter, and is also flattened for a better grip. Not quite sure how I would describe the condition, due to the nature of the beast, so please use the photos to judge the condition for yourself.
