PLEASE NOTE: THESE TWO (2) GREAT VINTAGE ITEMS WERE NEVER INTENDED TO BE, AND STILL ARE NOT, A “MATCHED” SET DESIGNED TO BE TOGETHER AND/OR COMPATIBLE TO BE USED TOGETHER. IN FACT, THE FISHING ROD being offered in this action DOES NOT FIT INTO THE VINTAGE ALUMINUM STORAGE TUBE/CASE. 1) ONE of the items IS A RARE, HARD TO FIND ALUMINUM STORAGE TUBE/CASE with the original removable rubber caps on each end, The language on the caps indicate that this tube/case was designed to be a storage case designed to be compatible with a fishing rod manufactured by Shakespeare and known as a Wonder Rod. PLEASE NOTE: There is NO Shakespeare WONDER ROD FISHING ROD BEING OFFERED FOR SALE IN THIS AUCTION/LISTING. The new owner of this very nice storage container can obviously use it to store any fishing rods/equipment and/or any other items that they so choose. 2) In addition to the aluminum storage tube/case described above, this sale also includes a very nice VINTAGE SHAKESPEARE FISHING ROD. This nice fishing rod does separate into two pieces. While I could not determine the model number of this fishing rod, this Shakespeare fishing rod has a “pistol grip” type handle. There is a number engraved onto the handle portion of this fishing rod which I have included in at least one or more of the photographs with this listing. TO BE PERFECTLY CLEAR; AND AS PREVIOUSLY NOTED: THE FISHING ROD being offered in this action DOES NOT FIT INTO THE VINTAGE ALUMINUM STORAGE TUBE./CASE. THESE ARE TWO SEPARATE & INDEPENDENT ITEMS THAT NEVER WERE INTENDED TO BE COMPATIBLE WITH EACH OTHER. They have been listed together because they are both manufactured by the excellent Shakespeare manufacturing company and are from a fairly similar time. Also, they are the only Shakespeare items I have remaining to be listed on eBay. While these items show some signs of wear and tear, consistent with their age and use, in my opinion, both items are in VERY GOOD CONDITION. However, I will defer to the photographs for your further assessment as to the description and condition of these itemsa. PLEASE USE YOUR OWN BEST JUDGMENT. I have always taken great pride in my collection, so most all of my items are in GREAT shape and have been very carefully taken care of in clean, smoke and pet free, climate controlled conditions.
