Description: 2004 Postcard Indianapolis 500 Motor Speedway Indiana Pit Stop Because the cars in the Indianapolis 500 mile race normally require at least six pit stops for the purpose of taking on fuel and fresh tires, it is advantageous to make a stop whenever a caution period requires that the field slows down in single file behind the pace car. Having ducked in for a quick stop, there is then a mad scramble to get back out as quicky as possible in an attempt to pick up a position or two. Spinning tires tend to "lay rubber" on the concrete pit lane in the process. This card is part of my personal collection, but, alas, we are now parting ways. I have cherished all my cards and I hope you will enjoy this card as I have for so many years. The postcard will be sleeved when shipped.
