Tinsky and Rollar’s partnership continued until 1990, when the pair split amicably, with Tinsky retaining ownership of the company. In the early 21st century, Mark Tinsky began to carve pipes under his own name, while continuing to use the American name for his expanded venture into pipe-making supplies for the next generation of master artisans. Theres something very Italian about this otherwise very American pipe. A few things, actually. While it is a traditional Anglo-French author in form, similarities between it and Savinellis popular 320 KS shape are certainly evident, from its squat proportions to its wide chamber. Tinskys Coral finishes have always felt a little Italian-influenced, too, with this Dress (black) version continuing the lineage of high-grade, pebble-dash rusticated pipes.
