Description: Each year, the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO) unveils a new design in the Zi:Sin coin series that corresponds with the 12-year cycle of the lunar calendar. Zi:Sin stands for the Twelve Guardians: God’s commanders who are assigned to protect the human race from twelve directions around the globe. The commanders roam the earth, protecting mankind from threats like demons and plagues by wielding their extraordinary powers over nature. While the commanders are in human form, each one carries a unique weapon and possesses a special ability to ward off evil. The third release in the Zi:Sin series features Scrofa, who is responsible for protecting the sacred Salt-Lake. The Salt-Lake is a divine passage that connects the two worlds between mortal and immortal souls. Scrofa possesses the ability to use all five senses to detect evil forces from far away and duplicate herself to fight against demons in battle. This alternative to the main design features the main image of the guardian Scrofa in military dress along with her hooded “ghost power” standing behind her. This version has a very limited mintage of only 10,000 coins, which makes for an extraordinary and valuable collector’s piece. Display this beautiful alternative alongside the single image edition! Highlights 3rd issue in the highly sought-after Zi:Sin series Ghost version of the main design with an extremely limited mintage of only 10,000 pieces Contains 1 oz of .999 pure silver issued by the Korean Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO) Shipped in uncirculated, mint-fresh condition. Featured here is the image of the Do ggae bi on a Chiwoo Cheonwang shield, a supernatural creature believed to protect against evil spirits. According to tradition, Korean people hang the image of Do ggae bi off roof tiles to prevent evil spirits from entering their homes. Engravings on the obverse also include “REPUBLIC OF KOREA”, “1 CLAY”, and “2019 FINE SILVER 999.” This side also features KOMSCO’s latent security engraving of “999” and “KOMSCO” in the center of the design field. Reverse The reverse features the figure of Scrofa in the foreground wearing her full battle regalia, head bowed and sword unsheathed. A boar’s head graces her body armor, symbolizing the Year of the Pig in the Shengxio calendar. Standing behind her is a hooded ghost figure representing her ability to duplicate herself in battle. They stand together, poised to defend the sacred Salt-Lake. Her name, “Zi:Sin Scrofa” is also inscribed on this side of the coin About the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO) KOMSCO is the official sovereign mint of South Korea.
