Description: This Korean Silver Coin is the fifth release in the Chiwoo Cheonwang Silver series. This coin is minted using one troy ounce of .999 fine silver bullion. Chiwoo Cheonwang or Chiyou was the Supreme Emperor in Ancient Korea around 2600 B.C. Chiyou is portrayed by South Korea with four heads a bronze head and six wings in many tales. Although the Chinese see him as a tyrant defeated by a ruthless Chinese emperor, he is viewed by the South Koreans as a hero who defended them against invasions. The obverse of all South Korean coins is the same, featuring the gorgeous image of Do ggae bi on the Chiwoo Cheonwang shield. Above the shield are the words “REPUBLIC OF KOREA”, to the left are the words “2020 FINE SILVER 999”, to the right are the words “1 CLAY”. Below the shield is “KOMSCO” which stands for Korea Minting, Security Printing and ID Card Operating Corporation. The reverse features a valiant warrior sporting a helmet, large sword, and a shield with Chiyou’s face defending South Korean against the invading Chinese. The words “CHIWOO CHEONWANG” are minted to the man’s left along with scenic cliff sides in the background.
