Each design in the twelve-coin series is the work of Monnaie de Paris general engraver, Joaquin Jimenez. Common elements of the individual obverse designs feature a border with a wheel of various astrological signs, with each coin highlighting the particular graphic representation that the sign represents. The French name of the star sign is also included as part of the design. The common reverse features a pattern of two interlocking hexagons serving as a frame which is shown on the outer ring of the bi-metallic coins. Each coin is enclosed in a card format presentation which includes the printed artwork featured on the coin.
