Description: Meher Raheem is a renowned Middle Eastern female painter. She was active during 3 decades in Saudi Arabia from ~1958-1985.Meher Raheem and her artist-husband, Raheem Baig, were leaders in the art community of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Mr. Baig worked for the Arabian American Oil Company (“Aramco”) and both Raheem Baig and Meher Raheem were members of the Art Groups in the three large American employee communities -- Dhahran, Abqaiq, and Ras Tanura – in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. They lived with their three children in Al-Khobar – a town of ~10,000 to 100,00 during the time they lived there. One of the pictures shown in this offer is not of the print itself, but of Heher Raheem (left in the photo) and Raheem Baig (right) at an art show in Dhahran. This photo / caption is taken from the May 27, 1964 weekly edition of the Aramco weekly newspaper, “The Sun & Flare".My family lived in Dhahran from 1960 – 1977. It was at such an art show that my mother purchased this piece from Meher Raheem. It has been in our family ever since. We are selling it because it no longer fits our living decor.
