Description: Here are three old, black and white photos of a little girl, first as an infant and second at 3 yrs. old. The first two photos feature her in a long white gown, she's got dark hair and is laying on a printed blanket that could be draped over a chair. On the back of these two photos is written: Kathryn May Evans Age 3 Mo. Apr. 7, 1919, Brown Hair & Eyes. The third photo features the little girl as a toddler, dressed in a white dress with white stockings and black, patent leather shoes. She is standing on a white furry carpet, leaning on an ornate table with flowers on top of it. On this photo, written inside the photographer's folder is: Kathryn May Evans Age 3 yrs. 7 mo. old 1922. I did some research and found that Kathryn May was born in Birdsboro in 1919, the daughter of Joseph Webster & Elva (Hornberger) Evans. In the 1930 census the family is living in Reading, Berks County, PA, in 1940, they are still in Reading, but two more daughters, Elizabeth and Elaine have been added to the family. Kathryn graduated from Reading High School in 1937 and Kutztown State Teacher's College in 1940. In 1946 in Alexandria, Virginia she married Charles Seker, also of Reading, PA. I don't think this marriage lasted, because I found her in listed in her father's obituary in 1979 are Kathryn Hanscom. The photos are nice and clear with some wear from age and storage. The infant photos are wavy and have a few marks, the other one was well preserved in the original photographer's folder. Great old photos for anyone researching the Evans family history.
