Description: (3) RARE Haviland Clover Leaf SMALL Bread & Butter Plates 4 7/8" diameter. A piece of American History! Stamped "Haviland France" in green. And "Haviland & Co Limoges for Gimbel Bros Milwaukee" in red. Gimbel Bros, founded in 1842, opened the Milwaukee store in 1887. By the 1920's Gimbel Bros. was the largest department store retailer in America. About 1920 Gimbel Bros rebranded their stores as the iconic Gimbels, from "Miracle on 34th Street" fame. These plates, stamped Gimbel Bros Milwaukee, pre-date the 1920's, maybe by a lot. See Photos. These little plates are in excellent antique pre-owned condition.
