In order to take advantage of the new postal rates structure, we have increased the catappa leaves from 20pcs to 30pcs, and also included a 1" diameter x 6" long US Arizona cholla cactus wood and two Brazil cariniana Savu pods to this listing. Our Grade A medium-size catappa leaves are all natural fallen leaves collected from Singapore. They are all between 5 to 7 inches. We import the jumbo-size alder cones in very large quantities and offer them on our own retail website and also wholesale to large users like shrimps breeders and aquarium pet shops worldwide. These are not the normal-size alder cones you will find on the market out there. We filter out all the bad and damaged flaw cones (see the last photo) and select only the best to sell here on eBay ( see the 9th photo )! Shrimp just love cholla woods. All kinds of beneficial processes happen during their breakdown due to their softness. Similar to catappa leaves or alder cones, they will stain the water slightly with their useful tannin which helps to imitate the natural habitat of many shrimp species. Most importantly, tannins have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which help protect your shrimp against disease. As cholla wood breaks down a layer of biofilm will form on it. This makes it the perfect place for shrimp to forage, a piece of cholla wood will likely have a few shrimp on it at any given time. Lastly, the two pieces of cariniana savu pods will provide a hiding & playing place for your shrimp, which means you can use it as a natural-looking alternative to ceramic shrimp flats. Shrimp will especially appreciate it while molting when they're very vulnerable and like to be able to retreat to a safe place. With this combination, you are providing your shrimps with the four essential antibacterial and antifungal properties of mother nature. They contain very useful tannins which help in lowering your pH level, protect live stocks, benefit plant growth, and imitate the natural habitats of fish that naturally occur in blackwater rivers, which stimulates spawning and reduces stress.
