Made by Heinrich Handwerck factory, head by Simon & Halbig – circa 1885-on. Bisque socket head on ball jointed wood/composition body. Incised on the back of the doll head: Germany HEINRICH HANDWERCKSIMON & HALBIG8 She has large brown sleep eyes with upper and lower painted lashes, waxed eyelids with mohair lashes. Her lips are slightly parted showing four upper teeth. She has special shading lines at the top and bottom lips. She has pierced ears with one earring. Bisque head is in great condition, NO cracks, chips, or hairlines. Her body is in very good condition, heavy and sturdy with minor wears that should be expected for the age. Body has original finish with Heinrich Handwerck markings and number 8 that matches the number of the bisque head. Hand with all fingers but there are one or two re-glued. Someone did a good job on matching touchup paint on her hands. Please view close-up pictures. Legs and toes are in great condition with all red detailing.She has a long beautiful human hair wig and canvas pate. Her gorgeous outfit is made of hand embroidered silk. It’s not hard to capture the beauty of this outfit, because the sheer of the silk and the reflection of the light. A good combination of fabric and lace, the deep red of the outfit is even better looking than in the photos. Her hat is also custom made. She is wearing vintage undies and a pair of white leather shoes. She is a rare to find condition for a large doll. If you like large dolls, she is just a perfect one. Don’t miss her!
