4 PATTERNS Antique French 18th century Jouy quilt fragment Indienne floral

This is an antique French quilt fragment dating from the late 1700s or very early 1800s ~ the front pattern is an AMAZING Indienne , Im nearly certain this fabric was printed at the Jouy factory itself ~ the backing has a thin strip of early Provencal small scale , yellow ground floral and the purple is a tiny tiny scale purple ( nearly totally gone! ) however, the amazing thing is that under the 18th century Indienne floral is another layer that was covered over! 100% certainly 18th century ! If one were to recover the earliest layer , it would take unpicking the stitching and detatching the layers of fabric! Something Ive spent many many days of my life doing! Its an adventure ~*~ There is a cotton batting ~ this quilt fragment is wonderful. Ideal for design inspiration etc ~*~ ( I do have one more piece of this quilt, please search my store for the words " Jouy Indienne" and it will appear! ~ MEASUREMENTS: This textile measures approximately 70inches long by 30 inches wide ~ CONDITION: This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition !~There is wear, small holes, some dirt marks ETC ~ its very important to use the zoom feature on this quilt fragment to view the exact condition closely! The backing , purple small scale is nearly 100% gone! ~ Ideal for design inspiration , creative hands etc~ EQF 88
