Description: This lot of FONTANINI Simonetti creche/nativity figurines includes baby Jesus with a straw-filled basket cradle, Joseph and another shepherd, or possibly a wise man (?). The figurines are made of a “nearly indestructible and child-friendly polymer resin” with “amazing attention to detail, lifelike sculpting and meticulous painting”. The Jesus figurine is not marked, however the cradle is marked, “Made in Italy © 1 Fontanini dol 1908” on the bottom; it measures about 1 inch tall by 2-1/2 inches long. Joseph is marked, “Simonetti” and “on the backside near the bottom along with “Made in Italy © 1 Fontanini dol 1908” on the bottom; it measures about 4-1/4 inches tall by 3 inches across. The shepherd/wise man figurine is marked, “Simonetti” along with “© Dep. Italy 171 ® Fontanini 2000” on the backside near the bottom; it measures about 5-3/4 inches tall by 3 inches across.
