4 Unknown 1970's Custom Kit Made O scale Pennsylvania Lighted Passenger Cars

Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE I am offering 4 vintage O scale Pennsylvania illuminated Passenger Cars with no maker markings. Judging from how they are made, they could be from 3 different kit types; but, probably the same maker: - #6421 Observation car w/ all metal construction, illuminated (works), 6 wheel die-cast & metal trucks, electro magnetic coupler, lift-off roof, clear plastic windows. Looks like the shell and part of the frame were assembled from 2 halves. Also, looks like there are manufactured depressed areas along the side shell under the windows where names and/or numbers were originally placed there and attempts were made to fill in the depressions and paint over them (see PIC close-ups). - ALEGRIPPUS (spelled wrong) Pullman w/ all metal construction, illuminated, 6 wheel die-cast & metal trucks, electro magnetic couplers, opening doors, frosted plastic windows (need TLC). Looks like car was originally stamped MADISON w/ the number 2627. Only 1 of 2 lights work; however, a wire is loose at the truck connection. Wire could also be for the coupler. I am including a spare light bulb (tested good) just in case. - ALEXANDER J. CASSATT Pullman w/ all metal construction, illuminated (works), 6 wheel die-cast & metal trucks, electro magnetic couplers, opening doors, frosted plastic windows (need TLC). Looks like car was originally stamped IRVINGTON w/ the number 2625. - #2774 Coach w/ metal sides & wood roof, wood frame, metal steps, die-cast trucks, fixed die-cast couplers marked THOMAS, clear plastic windows, no lights. There are Oriental painted markings underneath plus the word JOHNSON and is dated 12/10/70. Due to the date 12/10/70, I would say the cars were all made/assembled in the 1970’s. They look to be fairly well done and are in pretty good condition. They do show some dust/dirt, a few paint dings, wood roof shows sanding scratches. I have no way to test the couplers. The Coach couplers are approximately 3/16” higher than the other 3 – spacers/washers could be added easily to match better. This looks like a real nice start for a remodel/rebuild project to make these passenger cars exactly what you want.
