Description: These are Chancay burial dolls from Peru. They are handmade of ancient Pre Columbian textiles from the Chancay culture. The Chancay are known for the patterns, weaves, colors and quality of their textiles. Much has survived to modern times and Peruvian folk artists gather pieces and use them to make the traditional style Chancay burial dolls. These 4 dolls are mounted together with a loop of cloth for carrying or hanging. Each is unique, using the scraps of textiles with different weaves and patterns. I count at least 13 different textiles plus the lace or open weave pieces found on one dress and the mounting board. The faces are embroidered. There are photos of each doll so you can see the wonderful textiles. This group is somewhat unusual because of the lace/open weave textile and the fringe off the bottom. It measures approximately 8" x7" including the mounting board and fringe. They are in good vintage condition with no obvious tears. Please see photos and message any questions before bidding. We have many eclectic listings. We combine shipping whenever possible.
