The Blue Lace Agate mine is closed - for many reasons the mine became unprofitable. As of now there is no operating Blue Lace Agate mine. The Blue Lace mine at Blinkpan Namibia was the major source of Blue Lace in commercial quantities. The owner, for many years, has died. The mine had reached a depth that was not economical feasible. Most important the Namibian government has condemned the property for a wide variety of mining violations. It is a very slim chance that a legitimate operator will ever work this mine again. This being very rural Africa with many mineral sellers eager to make a buck opens the door for the "Privateers". Hopefully next trip I will track down some of these small sellers.
