Description: Original US Military issue Circa. 1940s A truly magnificent camouflage pattern and the very first to be issued to US troops during World War 2. These one piece suits were procured by the Army but as is the case with many uniform and equipment pieces, they were also occasionally worn by US Marines. Predominantly, these were used in the Pacific Theatre, however, there are reportedly some word-of-mouth accounts from veterans that a small handful of GIs wore them in the European Theatre also. Attached are photos of GIs wearing a selection of Frogskin camo uniforms. The 100% cotton HBT fabric is reversible (green for verdant terrain, and tan/brown for beach landings, etc.), however, the suit is designed to be worn green side out. This suit is a rare and fascinating piece of early US camouflage history in a good size. An exceptional and defining piece for any militaria collection or vintage wardrobe. This example shows signs of real wear and is in overall good condition with some field repairs and paint stains. Despite being heavily worn, there is little damage and all buttons and snaps are present and working. The Conmar brand zip is present and runs well. There is a small hole above the left breast pocket as seen. This piece is distressed - please study the photos carefully. Flat garment measurements (inches): Chest: 44" (22" P2P) Waist: 36" Leg: 32" Arm: 24.5" Length: 62" Shoulder: 19" All of our products are meticulously researched, inspected, precisely measured, and carefully washed and pressed.
