This historic and decorated military unit was founded in 1917; also known as the “Ivy Division” and the “Famous Fourth.” They served in combat in World War I, World War II, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan, plus serving in many other locations in multiple ways. Currently stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado.When this book was published, the Division was stationed at Fort Lewis, adjacent to Tacoma, Washington, preparing for likely (and eventual) deployment to Vietnam. The Division Commander at the time was Major General Frederick R.
